Duke lands three players on the preseason All-ACC team.
Jalon Calhoun and Graham Barton on offense, DeWayne Carter on defense.

Riley Leonard tied for 5th for POY votes, including one 1st place. (Drake Maye ran away with the voting overall)

Eli Pancol out for the season after surgery for a lower body injury. This sucks! Pancol is one of my favorite players. A big, tough receiver willing to go up for the ball in traffic.

Edit: Tweet doesn’t say out for season. It says he will miss significant time.

The ever mysterious "lower body injury". If it's a broken bone, maybe he'll be back, but if it's an ACL (which unfortunately is more likely) we won't be seeing him in '23.

The first polls are out, and Duke has 4 votes in the AP preseason poll, and 2 in the Coaches.

FSU and Clemson start off at 8 and 9. (Looking forward to FSU dropping)

ND is 13 and the cheaters are 21.

I’d much rather see Clemson drop! At least initially…

Here's a good outsider's perspective of Duke. Written by InsideNU's David Gold, he looks ahead to Northwestern's week three opponent...US!

Duke is on a two game win streak vs the Wildcats.
It's a writeup well worth the read.

With about two weeks until the Blue Devils start their season against Clemson on Labor Day, one thing is very clear: Duke isn't satisfied with nine wins.

"We don't look at anything as being even close to finished," head coach Mike Elko said during the team's media day on Saturday.
"We still feel like people are doubting us," offensive lineman Jacob Monk said. "No one is giving us a shot to win the ACC and that's one of our goals. So we're gonna go out each and every week and play the hardest that we can to achieve our goal."

Our tailgate neighbor Darrell Spells posted that the 1989 ACC Championship will be on the field at halftime for the Clemson game, and will be joined by Coach Spurrier.

That's pretty cool.

I'm on board with any poll that has us ahead of the cheaters. I like what that page does with the helmets. Here is their history of Duke's.

The ACC network has a series called ACC Football Road Trip. They have one episode for each team airing today; Duke takes the stage at 7 eastern.
