I watched most of the game, it was a solid start to the season. CCU helped lots with more unforced errors than I can count, but Duke's bats were booming!

Helluva day for Duke baseball. First game Duke lost with a CCU grand slam, and the second game looked like it would also be a walk off win. A great save at the plate and a strike out saved the day and the series.

Whew! I think overall it was about 8.5 hours of baseball played.

Taking two out of three from CCU is a nice start to the season.

Moved up to 11th in the rankings. After the first week.

Hopeful that Pollard has his team accepting the target they are developing on their back; it is well earned over the last few seasons.

We need to win the rubber match against BC today to improve to 2-0 in series wins. Jack Carey on the mound for Duke.

Hopefully Duke plays more like they did in the second game than the first.

Weekend series with Pitt starts today. Pitt is 6-1 and swept Florida State last weekend so it will be a challenge.

Not to derail this thread, but the softball from yesterday is worth checking out. Amazing, sudden win and the young program's first no-hitter. And an outstanding recruiting class just signed for next season, as well.

The softball team is doing some amazing things! I watched their game last Sunday vs South Carolina, they were pretty dominant.
Wish I could say the same about the baseball team, but there is still time for adjustments.

Changing the thread title to reflect that both are worth paying attention to.

Stinson is fun to watch. I stress out every time we are on the mound, but he's potent.

Broom closet remains locked. :(
Good game, but couldn't get the bats recovering in time.

Duke Softball smoked UCONN, though, 7-0. They are 15-1 on the season now.

Lousy timing, but Duke hosts 9-2 (and ranked) ECU today at 4. This would be a very good win if we can get it.
