Knock off brands

Post by Lavabe » July 7th, 2009, 9:19 am

If you've ever traveled abroad, I am sure you've seen them... KNOCK OFF brands. We're not just talking ROLEZ instead of ROLEX, or PANASOANIC.

Someone gave me today what I thought was a "Kit Kat" bar. Turned out, it was not only NOT "Kit Kat," it was a poor substitute. The taste buds were all set for chocolate, with the light wafer interior. But no, I took a bite of a "Kat Kat Tat." :-o :-o :-o

What is a Kat Kat Tat? Besides using the same font as Kit Kat, it is nothing like a Kit Kat. It's a frickin' puff pastry with a cocoa creme filling.

I am upset. X( ~x( :ymbringiton:

Any other classic tales of knock off brands?
Cheers,

Yeah, it was like the iPod nano, except on the case, it said "MP4", and when you turn it on, it has to load. It is kind of like the old microsoft screen. Oh, and Ozzie, who knows? They could have made it out of actual Cats with Tattoos. Hence the name KAT KAT TAT. Haha. :))

I was actually thinking the same thing, no way to know. But you know what? If it's good I'll deal with it. Meow.

There is only one "L". I was just driving along Folly Beach, SC, and I saw this and wondered, "Is there one L or two in "Holiday"? It was hilarious. The website says "This is not affiliated with the large hotel chain". Priceless.

Are you in Folly right now? How long? That's less than 10 miles away from me.

I left two days ago. I was only there for a day and a half. Where do you live. We were about nine miles from there at the round holiday inn (not the knock off one). We were near the starbucks and ashley ave.

When I was in China, I saw this place. We called it Kentucky Fried Mao. We didn't eat there, we opted for the Kentucky Fried Chicken down the street.
