NASCAR 2010

Post by Lavabe » January 8th, 2010, 5:38 pm

Alright folks... it's a brand new year of NASCAR discussion.

WHEN does Yahoo start up this year's fantasy league?

Who will be in each category?

Probably around the first week of February is my guess.

I think we can go ahead and mark Jr as being in the B List.

Got to think that Hamlin and Smoke move up to A List this year.

A List: Projected
JJ, MM, Gordon, Edwards, Kurt, Smoke, Hamlin, JPM, Kenseth, Kahne

B List: projected
Bowyer, Blech, Rocketman, Jr, JamieMac, JFL, Ambrose, Harvick, Mears, Truex, Sadler

C List: UGH
'dinger, and a whole lot of guesses while people search for sponsors

Does Joey Logano make a list yet?

My guess is that he will be on the B List. I don't remember what he was last year, but he has a ride the whole year whereas many of the C listers don't. Also, he did win one race but finished 20th overall in points.

Note to bjornolf (and others who didn't see my post about why I dislike Joey Friggin' Logano), JFL=Joey Logano. He's firmly in the B list, as he races for Joe Gibbs, along with Hamlin and Blech. I am thinking that yahoo will make Hamlin the #1 driver in Gibbs Racing, thus moving him into the A list. I'll assume they will shove Blech to B, as Blech didn't make the Chase.

Since last year's fantasy league was a DBR league, am I right in assuming that we'll have our own CTN league this year?

It would also be really cool if others joined us - the more the merrier.

I concur. I had a lot of fun playing even though I made the big move during the season. Hopefully I'll have less distractions this year.

DBR hasn't had an OTB post on NASCAR in like, forever. However, one of us should post over there to recruit more folks for the league.

It'll be really nice to have Bones in the league this year. Can't wait to see his A list driver choice starting in week 9 (after he's used up his allotment of Mark Martin selections). ;)

The overlap of DBR and CTN among the players in last year's league was 1.0

I wsa convinced he would turn things around. Or I wouldn't pick him one week, he'd do better, and then he'd stink when I got sucked back in and picked him the following week.
