Re: Need help from the computer folks...
Some companies I've seen talking about glass laptops. Thoughts on those? Nothing specific to offer except this, there is a difference between the bleeding edge and leading edge; glass cases seem to be on the bleeding for me. What does glass offer you? Does it improve the CPU or GPU? Can it hold mor...

Re: Need help from the computer folks...
Our family has 2 Asus netbooks and they are very solid both in terms of hardware and software. The Fujitsu laptop I got ~2004 had keyboard keys that fell off under normal wear and tear. We have a Gateway notebook ~2006 which is now our home media PC. It's screen has been wonky for years but that do...

So, if it's dead, what should I get? In my opinion, at the consumer level most hardware sucks, you really do get what you pay for. I have a 17" Mac Book Pro. Aside from the Mac OS, it also runs (through VMware Fusion/$49) Win XP, Win 2003 and Win 2008 Server, plus a few flavors of Linux. I don't ru...

Re: Need help from the computer folks...
I know what a solid state drive is vs. spinning hard drive, but are there any DISADVANTAGES to them? Slower random write times. More expensive. What do you want to do with your laptop? Is it your primary computer? Will you have desktop backup? For me, I don't think I'll ever own another desktop per...

Re: RIP Sullivan
Thanks all, Kelly and I really appreciate your love and support. Sullivan liked things quiet and peaceful. Most of the day, when I was making a ruckus at work, or the dogs were barking at the mail man and other passers by, he would chill out in his room and camp out under the bed. After things settl...

Re: RIP Sullivan
Here's my favorite video of our little buddy. This was taken from our old place, me sitting on our porch working from home. A long time ago, before I knew him, somebody broke into Kelly's house, throwing a brick through the bedroom window, landing right next to where he slept. Since then, Sullivan w...

RIP Sullivan
Tonight we say goodbye to our little buddy Sullivan, Kelly's youngest cat. Sullivan was the kindest, most gentle cat and we loved him dearly. He passed away quietly, without warning and his buried under our favorite oak tree in the back yard.

Re: VIOLATED!
MAN! That royally sucks. I hate it for you. Did you report it stolen? Do you have the serial number? Maybe you could send it around to local businesses that deal in related parts and hardware, so if someone tries to sell they can call the cops and arrest the S.O.B.
